Epiphan's System Inc. allowing you to see a doctor.

Hello Everyone,

While looking at articles I came across an article about a doctor and Epiphan's System Inc. Its starts about a climber who is at the base camp (6400 m above sea level) and needs an ultrasound of his lungs. He got his ultrasound. But the doctor who looked at the ultrasound was located in Detroit. In order for this ultrasound to be performed, another accompanying climber set up a portable computer powered by a solar panel and manned the ultrasound machine for Dr. Scott Dulchavsky. A high resolution image was transmitted to Detroit with satellite phone and video capture made by Epiphan's System Inc.

Epiphan's System Inc is a seven year old Ottawa company. Their two largest markets are: telemedicine and education. Education focuses on providing medical applications for universities and distance education. The devices that Epiphan’s System Inc provides allow professors and students to transmit images.

Here’s a little about the company. They have customers in 89 countries. They avoided venture capital. The company has seen a positive cash flow due to early sales allowed founders to buy out half of its investors. Founders claim the rest don't know if they want to buy out now.

Talk about a company! Epiphan's System Inc is obviously on the right track! The impact they are having on business is amazing. Not only are they a Canadian company they are also making an imprint in the market. Their two biggest markets in my mind are great one to start with. The only thing is with technology it’s always changing. With medicine and education they are also forever changing. If the company can adapt to changing environments and can provide new devices when older one has become outdated, I think it will create a new ground of competition to other industries who work in these fields.
